Webpage Paper

I picked this website because I really like the singer Mika. I’ve visited his website before and really liked how it was set up and the moving cartoons included. When I visited the website before, music started playing and I thought that was a good way of getting people interested.
The Mika website has changed since last time I looked at it. It still has cool cartoons but it has different effects. The cartoons are still the same style but they are more like spaceships and futuristic styles. Moving cartoons add an entertaining element to websites that is hard to get otherwise. When I opened the website, music started playing. As I scrolled down a music video was playing on the side of the screen. Even though I didn’t like the particular song, I liked that people could do other things while listening to music and watching the music video. I like how the website incorporates information and links like news, music, videos, art, products and exclusives into the cartoons. I like how so many options are available from the home page.
I don’t like how cluttered the different pages are. I think it would look better if there were more separate pages with information in smaller categories. The home page has the links to other pages with different information, but if you scroll down further much of the same information is shown on the home page. I think the information should be showed only once, and in the appropriate spot. The information that was shown is not always completely clear. I was looking on when and where Mika was going on tour, but the section on him touring was unclear on lots of information, including tours in November.
If I made my own website I would like to use moving cartoons, but I’m not sure if I know enough to incorporate something like that. I would really like to use music videos, or even just music. I think it would be really cool to have different songs playing on different parts of a web page. In my own webpage I would make sure that everything was organized very well under different headings. All the information that people would need would be available. If I did not have information that someone needed I would have a spot were people could make suggestions about bettering the webpage.
In general I really liked the Mika webpage. I liked the graphics and the music. I didn’t like some parts, but those were small and easily fixable. If I were to make my own webpage I would definitely use some of the same ideas and
